Family Therapy & Family Dynamics

This one day (Saturday) workshop, available in Poole, will explore the fascinating subject of how we are all affected by family dynamics.

This understanding can help us in our work as therapists and counsellors. It will be an interactive day with case studies, questions and discussion in small groups.

We will look at how systemic ideas and family therapy have evolved since the 1950s, drawing upon the work of some of the main thinkers like Don Jackson, Salvador Minuchin, Milton Erickson, the Milan Associates and Alfred Adler. We will also look at the family dynamic in eating disorders.

Course Details

This vital CPD will help counsellors and therapists get more understanding of their own and their client’s family dynamics.

  • All clients have a family history so this can help whether counsellors see individuals, couples or families in their work.

  • Improved knowledge and understanding of family dynamics and the evolution of family therapy.

  • Personal learning through working in small groups on case studies and other exercises talking through their own family dynamics.
