Working with Metaphor

This 1 day workshop, available in Poole and Exeter, offers participants the opportunity to understand more about the theory and practice of metaphor in counselling and psychotherapy.
This interactive, creative and practical workshop will consider metaphor as part of narrative therapy, but will also give participants the opportunity to consider how the approach can be integrated into their own practice and work with clients.

  • Metaphor is a creative and evocative way to make meaning of our lives.
  • Clients and counsellors often communicate through metaphor.
  • Attending to verbal and non-verbal metaphors can add greater insight, new perspectives and movement to therapeutic encounters.
