Course Details

The first Transactional Analysis Conference in the South West is taking place in Exeter on 5th October 2019.

Our theme of TA in the Age of Uncertainty embraces the challenges of the social, political and international events we are currently living through. How might we use TA to navigate through these difficulties – to thrive rather than survive?

This promises to be a stimulating day, with opportunities to hear and work with internationally recognised speakers and presenters, to meet other practitioners in all four fields of TA, and to join with the lively and growing TA community in the South West.

Our Speakers and presenters include: Eric Berne Memorial Award winner, Susannah Temple and EATA Gold Medal Winner (2019), Sue Eusden TSTA(P).

Susannah Temple will open our conference with a large-group experiential event entitled "Fight, Flee, Freeze – or – FLOW". Susannah will also run a workshop on Functional Fluency.

Sue Eusden will present our Afternoon session entitled "Hide and Seek in Troubled Times".

We invite anyone with any level of interest or experience in TA, in any of the four fields, to come along to the day.

Our key focus for this conference is making connections and growing the South West TA community. So there will be plenty of opportunities throughout the day to meet colleagues and make new contacts. At this time of national and international divisions and breaking of relationships, let’s get together and create something collectively. The conference will be based in our spacious buildings in central Exeter, with easy access to the town centre, and ample opportunities for socialising before and after the day.

We also want to encourage both qualified TA practitioners and students to submit proposals for workshops linked to our theme. We have a format that allows for different lengths of workshops, including a session of short presentations given by trainees, to allow discussion of several ideas within one session.

Please do join us for this exciting and eclectic day.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided along with a Certificate for 6-hours CPD for attendees.

What our Students Say

"On the Supervision Course I learnt a lot about how to be a supervisor and it has given me confidence to go out and put my new knowledge and skills into practice. But more than that the tutor facilitated a truly responsive learning space that made the experience unique. The best course I have ever done!"
Miya Bond - Diploma in Supervision Graduate

What our Students Say

“It achieved a great balance between knowledge of the topic and making this interesting and close to us... the Tutor managed to make {the lecture} understandable to us with day to day examples. At the same time we felt that he was really an expert in the topic. From a HR perspective we were delighted to get so many people participating in the Q&A after the talk, as this is not the usual way our staff behaves.”
